WATER-LURE
We who were born of water, in the warm slow ancient years,
Love it to-day for all we pay
Of terror and loss and tears.
The child laughs loud at the fountain, laughs low in the April rain,
And the sea's bright brim is a lure to him
Where a lost life lives again.
